Golfing Society edged out by Jokers

With the Jokers on a winning run, and just 4 points behind the Golfing Society, this match was a "must win" for the Golfing Society.

Taylor (29) and Gibbs (36) started like a run away train, and pulled 29 pins against their shell shocked opponents.

However it was not to last, with the hapless Bowker (16) and out of touch Williams (13) twenty seven pins were lost and the match result was now balanced on a knife edge.

Unfortunately Lewis (18) lost four pins and with Pinder (21) only managing to equal his opponent, the match was lost by two pins, to plunge the Golfing Society back into the relegation cess pit.

With 4 matches left, 3 against opposition below them, the fate of the Golfing Society is firmly in their own hands, and they will need to win at least 2 of the remaining matches to stay in the First Division for another season.

Next weeks match is away next Thursday to the Thursday Thirsties at Wheatsheaf.

Capt. Pinder
