Golfing Society left high and dry by Thursday Thirsties

The Golfing Society lost this relegation match up by 17 pins, and were left ruing the eight ducks which ultimately left them staring into empty pints by the end of the evening.

Gibbo (25) and Mr. Wibbly (8) started slowly and were never able to get any real momentum to threaten their opponents who opened up a lead of 21 pins and the writing was on the wall!

Crabbers (18) and the Captain (22) could only pull back 3 pins which left the Golfing Society high and dry by 18 pins.

Ned (28) with the match lost went for the double tote, and with the Leprechaun (24) close on his heels, they pulled a single pin on the anchor legs to leave the Thursday Thirsties toasting their win for the rest of the evening.

Next match is away next Friday to the Inlaws with a 9.15 start at the Catholic Club.

P Lewis (34) and S Pinder (27) saw the Golfing Society home to victory by eight pins, after comfortably containing the home side's fightback.

Golfing Society shot down by Lone Rangers

With both sides looking for their first win of the season, this matchup had all the makings of a relegation battle. However with the Golfing Society fielding a depleted side, it was left to the Lone Rangers to romp home by twenty nine pins, and consign the Golfing Society to the bottom of the league.

B Gibbs (28) and K Fox (15) started brightly, but were unable to maintain their form and lost seven pins to their opening pair opponents.

With H Bowker (7) and R Williams (23) the evening did not improve, and they lost a further eighteen pins to leave the Golfing Society trailing by twenty five pins going into the final pair.

S Crabtree (28) was the only person for the Golfing Society to beat their opponent, and with P Lewis (16) suffering a rare loss of form, a further four pins were lost and left the Golfing Society staring down the face of a barrel, with their fourth consecutive defeat.

Next weeks match is on Wednesday at 8.30, away to the Jokers at the Royal British Legion club in Patchway.
