Playing against the Ship A Hoys seems to bring out the best in the Golfing Society, but despite scoring the team's highest home and away scores, the Golfing Society have still lost both league matches this season.
Gibbo (35) and top scoring Crabbers (43) got the Golfing Society off to a good start, but still lost three pins to the high flying home side.
The Capt (37) eager to avenge last years low score of eleven, and the Leprachaun (39) set about the home side and pulled a magnificent six pins to leave the Golfing Society with a slender three pin advantage.
However the Ship A Hoys cranked up the scoring rate to deny the Golfing Society victory with the Accountant (40) and the luckless Ned (20) dropping twenty three pins by the final bell.
Next match is next Thursday 7th March home to the Inlaws which the Golfing Society need to win to ease their relegation fears.

The Golfing Society's poor run of form continued with a forty six pin defeat at the hooves of the White Hart Colts, which included twelve ducks to the home sides nine.

Golfing Society lose out to Thursday Thisties 120 - 140
Perhaps there was a hangover carried over from the earlier cup match, but again the Golfing Society fell short and equalled their bottom home score this season.
The Leprachaun (14) and Miss Mymobile Isbiggerthanyours (16) got the Golfing Society off to a poor start by dropping sixteen pins to leave the home side with it all to do.
Crabbers (15) and the Capt (21) did not help the Golfing Society's cause by dropping a further eleven pins to leave the Golfing Society deep in the "mire".
The Accountant (18) and the top scoring Builder (36) pulled back seven pins, but the match was lost by twenty pins to put the tin hat on a miserable evening for the Golfing Society.
Next match is away on the 12th Feb to the White Hart Colts at the White Hart Olveston.

Golfing Society knocked out of Front Pin Cup by A Men 129 - 141
The Golfing Society's front pin cup dreams lay in tatters after Thursday's defeat to third division A Men (and ladies).
Crabbers (22) and Starting Price (27) got the Golfing Society off to an excellent start by pulling eleven pins, much to the delight of cup captain Ned who was sidelined with a painful back condition.
However, it all went Pete Tong with the introduction of Gibbo (10) and the Leprachaun (15) who lost twenty four pins and "scored" five ducks between them in a dismal performance.
The Builder (24) and the Accountant (31) tried manfully to recover the situation, but ultimately were only able to pull back one pin and the match was lost by twelve pins.
