Golfing Society too hot for Lounge Lizards

The Golfing Society gained sweet revenge for their defeat earlier in the week, by ending the rearranged home match 11 pins to the good.

Taylor (35) looked to have the triple tote in his pocket, and ably assisted by Gibbs (20) handed on a lead of 9 pins to the home sides' middle pair.

Unfortunately, the Leprachaun (20) and the wearded bonder (20) squandered the lead passed onto them, and left the anchor pair 2 pins down.

Pearce (21) struggled on a slippery surface, but Pinder (36) despite a duck brought home the points and pocketed the triple tote.

Next weeks match is home to the Alley Cat Strays, normal start time.

Lounge Lizards too slippery for Golfing Society

For this long away trip to Little Stoke, 10 players were in the running for selection against the Lounge Lizards. However, with the Leprachaun looking distinctly green after his long weekend in Amsterdam, and birdie crabbers suffering from putters back, it was the old faithfuls of Taylor(23) and Lewis (13) who took to the alley first. They quickly returned with their tails between their legs and left the middle pairing of grampa Gibbs (19) and his son the bearded wonder (25) to pull the game back.

Unfortunately, they were unable to do so, and left it up to the anchor pair of Pearce (24) and Pinder (25) to chase another lost cause.

The Golfing Society will look to avenge their 28 pin defeat on Thursday when they play the return match against the Lounge Lizards at home, 8.00pm start.

Golfing Society stunned by Inlaws

The Golfing Society came up against a very determined Inlaws side, determined to banish the prospect of relgation to the Second Division.

In a high scoring match, Taylor (34) and Tinney (26) gave the home side an excellent start to the match by pulling 7 pins.

However, an off colour Crabtree (15) and the Bearded Wonker (27) lost 21 pins to leave the anchor pair 14 pins down.

Pearce (29) and Pinder (34) could only pull back 5 pins and the match was lost.

Two matches next week both against the high-flying Lounge Lizards will determine the success or failure of this season for the Golfing Society.

Tuesday's match is away at Little Stoke Social Club with the return match on Thursday at home 8pm start.

Ship-A-Hoys all at sea

The Golfing Society ended their barren stetch of away defeats with an emphatic win at relegation haunted Ship-A-Hoys.

With Taylor unavailable, Capt. Pinder was forced into changes, and Crabtree (28) and "driver" Lewis (21) raced into a 23 pin lead.

The leprachaun Tinney (23) and the bearded witterer (23) pulled a further 7 pins to give the anchor pair a rare cushion of 30 pins.

Pearce (37) and Pinder (20) relaxed and gained a comfortable victory by 28 pins.

Next week match is versus the Inlaws at home.
