The Golfing Society lost by 39 pins in a one sided encounter against the Odds & Ends who were playing their first match of the season.
Unfortunately Kim Fox (15) and Mike Tinney (26) came up against an opening pair who were bang on form from the off, and lost 25 pins which set the tone for the evening at the rugby club.
Howard Bowker (13) and Stuart Crabtree (17) drew against their opposite numbers, so left it all to do for the anchor pair of Ned Lewis (28) and Steve Pinder (18).
However they were never in contention, and despite being the top scoring pair for the home side, lost a further 14 pins to consign the Golfing Society to their second consecutive defeat.
Next weeks match is away to last years league champions Stone CC at the Salutation at Ham on Monday 20th.

Gamblers edge out Golfing Society
The Golfing Society were denied victory in their first away match of the new skittles season by the small margin of seven pins.
With the ever present Terry Taylor having retired, Kim Fox was brought in to make her debut for the Golfing Society. She did not disappoint, scoring a creditable 21 pins in her first ever front pin first match. Unfortunately her skittles partner Gibbo was left scratching his head, after ball after ball just missed the front pin, and only managed to score 7.
However, they were only one pin down, but the pairing of Bowker (18) and Crabbers (18) were unable to impose themselves on their fast bowling opposition, and lost a further nine pins to extend the home side's lead to ten.
Top scoring for the Golfing Society, Tinners (28) and Pinder (23) managed to pull back three pins, but it was all too little too late.
Next weeks match is at home (8.30 start) against Odds & Ends.
