Roaring Twenties blown away by Golfing Society

Golfing Society humbled by Newtonians

With barely six fit players and recent form not in their favour, this match usually being a homebanker for the Golfing Society, saw them lose by 38 pins.

Taylor (16) and Gibbs(16) lost 14 pins, and with the Leprachaun(23) and Mr Pastry(14) losing a further 18 pins, it left the anchor pair of Williams (29) and Pinder (20) with too much to do on the night.

Next weeks league match following tonights cup match at the Plough, is on Monday versus the Gamblers at the Miners Club Coalpit Heath.

Golfing Society lose out to Survivors

The Golfing Society despite being decimated by illness and old age, put up a spirited fight against the table topping Survivors.

With Taylor unavailable, Lewis (18) and Crabtree (13) took over the opening pair duties, and were unlucky to lose six pins.

Dack (20) playing in his first league match this season, and Gibbs (23) were unable to stem the tide, and lost a further ten pins to give the Survivors a lead of 16 pins going into the final pair.

Despite valiant efforts by Tinney(17) and Pinder (31) they were left two pins short of victory by the end of the match.

Next week sees league action at home on Thursday to the Newtonians and All-in Cup tie on Friday(8pm start) away at the Plough to 2nd division leaders Shandy's Gang.
