Lewis off top as First Timers beaten by Golfing Society

The Golfing Society were good value for their 16 pin away victory over the First Timers. With the Leprechaun unavailable, Taylor (22) and Gibbs (33) raced into a 28 pin lead helped by a stunning 17 pin spare by Gibbs on the notorious Black Horse Alley.

Mr Wibbly (15) and Mr Wobbly (24) consolidated the Golfing Society's impressive start to the match by only dropping five pins to give the anchor pair a huge 23 pin lead.

With the match already sewn up, Lewis (25) and Pinder (28) were in the unusual position of not having to chase the match, and therefore coasted through for the Golfing Society's third consecutive win and fifth overall.

Next league match will be home to the Alley Cat Strays on 3rd December.

Golfing Society silence Wot-U-Wots

For a second home match in a row the Golfing Society had their supporters on tenterhooks, as yet again despite a poor total score of 133, they managed to hang on for a morale boosting 5 pin win.

Taylor (25) and the Leprachaun (11) only found themselves three pins down against the luckless Joyce and Yus.

Mr Wobbly (26) and Mr Wibbly (24) were good value for their 50 pins against the unlucky Vincent and Walker (G) and handed on a 8 pin lead to the Golfing Society's normally reliable anchor pair.

Lewis's (12) recent run of good form ended as suddenly as it had begun, and it was left to Pinder (35) to nurse the home side's anchor pair through against Walker (C) and Burbage, for a second successive home victory.

Next weeks match is at the Blackhorse next Thursday against the First Timers. 8.30 start.

Golfing Society clean up Odds & Ends

In a low scoring match, the Golfing Society eased through to a 17 pin victory over the Odds & Ends.

The two T's, Taylor(20) and Tinney(25) cruised into a 12 pin lead which steadied the middle pairing of Mr Wibbly(21) and Mr Wobbly (9) who only lost two pins despite obvious impairments to their usual performances!

With 10 pins in the bag, top scorer Lewis(30) and the unlucky Pinder(21) pulled a further 7 pins, to ease the Golfing Society home for only their third win of the season.

Next weeks match will be home to the Wot-U-Wots 8.45 start.

Ship-A-Hoys beat all at sea Golfing Society

The Golfing Society crashed to a 35 pin defeat at the hands of the Ship-A-Hoys.

Crabtree (9) and Tinney (19) struggled to come to terms with the rodent infested alley, eventually dropping 21 pins.

Gibbs(18) and Williams (30) dropped a further 9 pins to put the match out of reach.

Lewis (37) and Pinder (26) let a further 5 pins slip away, to leave the Golfing Society struggling in the league with only two wins to date.

Next match is at home on November 5th, where fireworks are expected if the Golfing Society do not win against the Odds & Ends.
