In a low scoring match, both sides struggled to get any sort of a score. The Golfing Society gave the Crickets a belated Christmas present by losing by 19 pins to give the Crickets an easy passage into the quarter finals.
Next weeks match is against the Lounge Lizards at home normal start time.

Golfing Society go marching on
On an alley where victories have been far and few between, the Golfing Society stuttered to a 9 pin win over their third division opponents.
The experienced pairing of Taylor (19) and Gibbs (20) could only muster a narrow 1 pin advantage over the Saints opening pair.
This left Crabtree (22) and the bearded wonder (26) to establish a sixteen pin advantage for the anchor pair to revel in.
Pearce (16) and Pinder (22) flattered to deceive, and were happy to finish up only losing 7 pins by the end of the match.
Next weeks match is the home 3rd round of the All In Cup versus the Crickets on Thursday 27th.
A Merry Christmas to all my readers.

Golfing Society sink Ship-A-Hoys
The Golfing Society finally overcame their home hoodoo against the Ship-A-Hoys. Having never won a home league match against the team from The Ship at Oldbury, it was something of a relief to cruise home by a comfortable 32 pins.
The experienced opening pair of Taylor (35) and Gibbs (27) gained a lead of 24 pins for the middle pair of Tinney (19) and Williams (33) to extend the home side's lead by a further 4 pins.
The anchor pair of Pearce (30) and Pinder (30) were never troubled, and pulled a further 4 pins to leave the Ship-A-Hoys all at sea by the end of the match.
Special praise should go to the bearded wonder for playing his first home match of the season, whilst suffering the after effects of a particularly nasty runny nose!!

All In Cup match to be played Wednesday 27th December
The home third round matchup against the Crickets has been arranged for Thursday 27th December, usual start time.
This will give the "porkers" in the side (you know who you are!!) a good after Christmas workout.
If anyone is unable to play, please give me ample warning as these matches are not easy to re-arrange.
