F Troop put Golfing Society to the sword 145 - 126
The Golfing Society's march to promotion suffered a set back when F Troop charged their way to a nineteen pin victory over a subdued Golfing Society.

Chairman Leprechaun (19) and Miss Ing (16) dropped three pins despite "scoring" one less duck than their opponents.
The Accountant (15) and the top scoring Capt (30) were unable to turn the match around and lost a further pin to give the away side's anchor pair just four pins to find.
Unfortunately, Cup Captain Ned (21) and the Builder (25) despite being the top scoring pair for the Golfing Society, were no match for their opponents who out scored them by fifteen pins.

Golfing Society triumphant against La-Me-Dos 126 - 111
A low but winning score by the Golfing Society put paid to a determined effort by fourth placed La-Me-Dos. Whether the fact that the alley spot lights failed before the match attributed to the low scoring by both sides, it was nether the less another two point haul for the promotion chasing Golfing Society.
With Mr Wibbly resting from last weeks exertions, Chairman Leprechaun joined him on the bench ready to grab this weeks squatter's place in next weeks league encounter with F Troop.
Gibbo (21) returned to the side and along with Crabbers (13) and pulled seven pins to put the Golfing Society in pole position for the rest of the match.

All-In Cup Final - Golfing Society pipped by Jokers 190 - 201
In an entertaining but ultimately disappointing final for the Golfing Society, the Jokers first division experience proved the deciding factor in an eleven pin defeat for the second division outfit.
With Gibbo being rested, Chairman Leprechaun (34) and Crabbers (33) got the underdogs off to a terrific start by pulling ten pins to settle any nerves the Golfing Society may have had.
With Mr Wibbly along for support, and President Ron Holpin cheering for his old side, the Jokers began to exert pressure on the Golfing Society, with the middle pairing of Starting Price (31) and the Accountant (33) just hanging on to two pin lead for the anchor pair to defend.
However, the Golfing Society's brave challenge faltered, with the final pair of cup captain Ned (31) and the Builder (28) dropping thirteen pins to end their All-In Cup run for this season.
Despite the disappointment of becoming runner's up for the second year in succession, the Golfing Society can now turn their attention to the Front Pin Cup and maintaining their promotion push in the league.
Next league match will be next Thursday vs Hasslers at Almondsbury Social Club.

Newtonians gain bragging rights over Golfing Society 172 - 147
This matchup was it's usual boisterous event, with the Newtonians even without Dickie Low proving too much for an under performing Golfing Society outfit.
Gibbo (31) and the top scoring Capt (35) eased the Golfing Society into an eight pin lead, but found themselves down by five pins as Chairman Leprechaun (13) and the Accountant (23) lost thirteen pins in a duck riddled encounter.
However once again the opposition's anchor pair were to prove the downfall for the third match in succession, with Cup Captain Ned (20) and the Builder (25) dropping twenty pins to leave the Golfing Society stuck on eighteen points and third place in the league.
Next league match is home to second place Persuaders where the Golfing Society will be looking forward to gaining their first points in 2014.

Sociables B overwhelm Golfing Society 140 - 101
The Golfing Society suffered their fifth defeat of the season against the Sociables B at Hansons Social Club.
Missing a couple of players the Golfing Society started slowly with Mr Wibbly (8) and the Capt (16) dropping ten pins to leave the middle pair with an uphill task.
Worse was to follow however, as Chairman Leprechaun (21) and the top scoring Accountant (28) dropped a further eleven pins to leave the Golfing Society adrift by twenty one pins.
Cup captain Ned (15) and the still smooth handed Builder (13) were unable to improve the Golfing Society's match position and unfortunately lost a further eighteen pins to bring the curtain down on a wet and miserable night.
Next weeks match is away on Thursday to the Newtonians where the Golfing Society will be looking to avenge their first defeat of the season back in September.

Golfing Society fall to Olveston Youngsters 142 - 152
This promised to be a tight match between the league leaders and second placed Golfing Society, and so it proved with Olveston Youngsters only taking the match lead halfway through the final pairings.
Gibbo (28) and the Capt (24) were the top scoring pair for the Golfing Society and pulled nineteen pins which should have been enough for victory.
Unfortunately Chairman leprechaun (17) and Crabbers (24) were still full of Christmas Spirit, and lost eight pins to leave the Golfing Society with a slender eleven pin lead.
Cup captain Ned (24) and the smooth handed Builder (25) were no match for the Youngsters anchor pair who scored thirty five pins each to consign the Golfing Society to only their fourth defeat of the season.
Next weeks match is on Wednesday 8th January versus Sociables B at Hansons Social Club, 8.30 start.
