Odds & Ends pushed all the way by Golfing Society

The duck curse struck again, as despite scoring eight to their opponents four ducks, the Golfing Society only lost the match by a solitary pin.

The Leprachaun (20) and Crabbers (25) got the Golfing Society underway, but were made to pay heavily for their ducks by dropping 9 pins to the Odds & Ends opening pair.

Needing to score a hatfull, the Capt. (27) and Mr Wibbly (20) making a welcome return to the side, pulled a stunning 17 pins to get the Golfing Society back in a match winning position.

With Ned (21) and the Accountant (25) the Golfing Society were always in with a chance, and despite losing 8 pins, just needed an eight to win the match, but it proved too great a hurdle and the match was lost.

This week the Golfing Society entertain the Ship-a Hoys who will be looking to avenge their two defeats to the home side last season.

Golfing Society send Posse packing!

The All-in cup is never easy to progress in for the Golfing Society and other First & Second league players who hardly ever play All-in. And so it proved with a 160 - 160 draw, with the Golfing Society getting through via the roll-up decider.

The Leprachaun (33) and Miss Ed (19) got the Golfing Society off to a good start, with the Accountant (27) and Gibbo (25) giving a good account of themselves.

It was left to Crabbers (28) and Ned (28) to see the home team through to the next round, but with the Posse's last man needing to score only four, he could only manage three and the match was tied.

However, two of the Posse players had already left, so it was 6 players against 4 and the Golfing Society were home and dry into the next round.

Next match league action returns with an away match to Odds & Ends at the Catholic club on Tuesday night.
