The Golfing Society faced an uphill struggle to overcome the White Hart A on their home alley in Olveston on Monday evening.
Taylor (29) and Lewis (12) resumed their partnership hoping to hand on a sizeable lead, but were soon on the slippery slope and lost 19 pins to the home team pair.
However, Tinney (19) and the Bearded Waster (34) did not disappoint and with a magnificent effort handed a 9 pin lead to the anchor pair of Pearce (28) and Pinder (23), who in turn pulled a further 4 pins to bring the Golfing Society home with a comfortable 13 pin lead.
Next weeks match is at home on Thursday versus the First Timers.

Golfing Society unmask Lone Rangers
The Golfing Society avenged their early season defeat by the Lone Rangers to canter home by an impressive 26 pin victory over the league leaders.
Sicknote Taylor (24) and Tinney (23) nosed the Golfing Society into a 2 pin lead against Longman (Jnr.) and Ponting (K).
Despite Lewis (25) and the Bearded Winker (21) both starting with ducks against Gardiner (Thanks for providing the sticker-ups) and Longman (Snr.), they increased the Golfing Society's lead up to an impressive 12 pins against the league table toppers.
Pearce (28) and Pinder (30) were not to be denied, and with (Taxi for) Curtis and Ponting looking in vain for edges and cuts, the Golfing Society's anchor pair pulled a further 14 pins to dent the title ambitions of the defeated Lone Rangers.
Next match is away on Monday 28th January against the White Hart "A".

Golfing Society pick off Oldberries
The Golfing Society progressed through to the next round of the Front Pin Cup after beating the Oldberries by 22 pins.
Unfortunately the Oldberries could only raise four players on the night, which made the passage through to the next round somewhat of a formality for the Golfing Society.
Cason and Dack performed wonders on their return to the team after several months absence!

Inlaws outlawed!
On a wet and windy night at the Catholic Club saloon, the Inlaws were in no mood to come second for the second time in the day. But with the Golfing Society thirsting for blood after been kept waiting by the slow hand tactics of the Cricketers, the match turned into a duel where no quarter was asked or given.
The opening pair of Taylor (21) and Tinney (28) saw off their opposition by 13 pins, leaving the wibbly wobblys to pull a further 9 pins. Mr Pastry (27) and the Bearded Whinger (30), despite the lateness of the hour held all the aces in this standoff across the alley.
With a comfortable 22 pin lead the experienced Gibbs (23) and Pinder (30) were never outgunned, and left the Inlaws tasting the bitterness of defeat twice in the same evening
Next week there are two matches at home on Thurday. First match against the Oldberries in the Front Pin Cup (8pm start) and then the Lone Rangers in a match which could have some bearing on who wins the league at the end of the season.

Odds & Ends sorted!
In the first match of the second half of the season, the Golfing Society were looking to avenge their six pin defeat at the beginning of the season.
The TT pairing of Taylor (34) and Tinney (31) roared into a 27 pin lead, leaving the Odds & Ends already staring at defeat.
The Bearded Wonder (33) and Lewis (12) struggled against the expected fight back from the Odds & Ends, but were still able to hand on a 16 pin lead to the anchor pair.
Pearce (34) and Pinder (24) pulled a further 5 pins to give the Golfing Society a second successive win on the road, and looking for a third away victory against the Inlaws on Friday.
Match to commence at 9.15pm Catholic Club.

Alley Cat Strays Neutered!!
The Alley Cat Strays fell far short of their normal high standards, and left the Golfing Society purring to a 15 pin victory.
Once again the established frontline pairing of Taylor (28) and Lewis (20) were back on form, giving the away team a 16 pin lead over Love (27) and Jones (5).
Bringing back the wibbly wobblys for the middle pair was always going to be something of a calculated risk, but with Mr Pastry scoring a useful 18, and the Bearded Wonder 29, the Captains faith was restored.
Issacs and Kinnear who both scored 28 apiece looked to have brought the game back to the Alley Cats, but Pearce (29) and Pinder (30) were never in trouble against Markey (32) and a strangely out of sorts Mr Michael Webb (19), and so the match was won by slightly more than a cats whisker!
Next weeks match is on Tuesday away at Catholic Club versus the Odds & Ends.
