Golfing Society quench Thursday Thirsties

The Golfing Society relied on their home form to defeat the visiting Thursday Thirsties by 23 pins.

Taylor (27) and Lewis (23) were soon in the groove, and with a welcome return to form outscored Sansum and Willcox by 14 pins.

The middle pairing of the bolloxed wanderer (31) and early nighter Pearce (20) pulled a further 17 pins against Gardner and Sami (Jnr).

This left the anchor pair of the Leprachaun (21) and Pinder (29) to make no mistakes against Meachin and Gordon to ease through to a comfortable victory.

Next weeks match is on Wednesday at the Ship Oldbury against the Ship-A-Hoys.

Golfing Society hit for 39 by Stone CC

The Golfing Society's poor away form shows no signs of improving, as they have not won on the road since the 28th January.

Taylor (46) and "Tiger" Lewis (26) lost only 5 pins, but could have done with pulling 40 odd pins as the middle pairing of "Birdie Crabtree" (32) and Mr Pastry (15) lost 33 pins which again left the anchor pair with another impossible task of pulling back 38 pins.

Pearce (38) and Pinder (40) lost a further pin, and Stone CC had gained revenge for their earlier season defeat at the hands of the Golfing Society.

Next scheduled match is home against the Thursday Thirsties on Thursday 27th March.

Essilor complete double over Golfing Society

The Golfing Society slumped to another away defeat, this time to a strong Essilor outfit.

Taylor (12) and Lewis (20) were no match for their high scoring opponents, losing 30 pins by the time they handed over to the wibbly wobblys.

Mr Pastry (25) and the Balding Wobbler (17) were unable to pull any pins back, and yet again the anchor pair of Pearce (32) and Pinder (21) were left with an impossible task, eventually pulling back 6 pins for a 24 pin defeat.

Next match is Monday 17th March away to Stone CC at the Salutation at Ham.

Crickets stumped by Golfing Society

The Golfing Society welcomed back Crabbers to their ranks after his long sebatical. Crabbers (30) and Taylor (18) pulled out a seven pin lead to hand over to the middle pairing of the Bearded Wonder and Pumper Paul.

The pumpster showed last week's score was no fluke with a quick fire 15 and Mr Wibbly responded with a confident knock of 26.

This left the anchor pair of Pearce (33) and Pinder (36) to improve on the 3 pin lead, to bring home the points with a comfortable 14 pin victory.

Golfing Society royally flushed by Gamblers

The Golfing Society were left red faced after suffering a 66 pin defeat at the hands of the Gamblers.

With no hint of what was to come, Taylor (26) and Gibbs (24) were only 9 pins adrift on handing over to the middle pairing of the Bearded Wonder (14) and Paul (can I borrow your pump) Dack (14).

Unfortunately, due to reaching 50 years of age Mr Wibbly was still recovering from his birthday party lunch the previous day, and with Dacky suffering a sudden deflation, the pair were no match for their on song opponents, and lost a further 25 pins to leave the anchor pair a near impossible task.

Pearce (5) and Pinder (19) lost 32 pins to record the Golfing Society's highest ever defeat.

Next matches are on Thurday 13th against the Crickets, and Friday 14th versus Essilor at the Catholic Club, time to be advised.
