Golfing Society pour misery on Jokers

A determined and resolute performance by the Golfing Society produced a winning result by nine pins over the Jokers.

With Taylor (20) and Lewis (29) back in harness, they were able to hand on a lead of two pins to Gibbo (19) and Mr Wibbly (40).

This was an outstanding effort by Mr Wibbly as he was without his favourite player Mr Wobbly, and the previous week he had been dropped to allow Mr Wobbly a game on his favourite alley.

The anchor pair of the Leprechaun (24) and Capt. Pinder (29) made no mistake with their lead of ten pins, only dropping one to cruise home with a welcome win.

Next weeks match is again at home, with the Wot-U-Wots (who are you?) being the team to beat next.

Golfing Society come second again.

The Golfing Society once again lost at the Catholic Club to the Inlaws.

In a low scoring match, the Inlaws used all their home advantage to win by two pins.

Mr Pastry(22) and the Leprachaun(27) were the Golfing Society's top scoring pair, but still came off seven pins adrift.

Lewis(17) and Gibbs(26) with a late flourish pulled the Golfing Society level, leaving Pearce(19) and Pinder(25) to once again fail at the final hurdle.

Next weeks home match is the re-arranged game versus the Jokers.

Blackadders lose to Golfing Society in All in Cup

Blackadder: If we lose, I'll be chopped into pieces. My arm'll end up in Essex, my torso in Norfolk and my genitalia stuck up a tree somewhere in Rutland.

And so also was the fate of the Blackadders after their 24 pin defeat by the Golfing Society!

Taylor (32) and Lewis (32) were good value for their 6 pin advantage which was handed onto Crabtree (27) and  Williams (22) who paced themselves to come through with a further 4 pin lead.

Gibbs (32) and Pinder (31) made no mistakes  to pull another 13 pins to propel the home side into the next round of the cup.

Next weeks match is home to the Jokers, normal start time.
