Thursday Thirsties dry up against Golfing Society
For the second week in a row, the Golfing Society picked up valuable points over high flying opposition.
With Terry Taylor unavailable, Capt. Pinder brought in experienced campaigner Brian Gibbs (24) to partner Ned Lewis (28), who between them pulled 3 pins over the opening home pair of Sansum and Wilcox.
The "wibbly wobblys" (Bowker (21) and Williams (23) ) made no mistake in pulling a further 13 pins after a shakey start, over Gardiner and Pearce.
This gave the anchor pair a 16 pin cushion for Pearce (20) and Pinder (25) to cruise home by nine pins against Meacham and Gordon who fought to the very end.
Congratulations go to Ned Lewis for this weeks highest score.
Next weeks match is home to the White Hart Colts.

Golfing Society do double over Stone CC
In an amazing return to form, the Golfing Society upset the odds and returned their first ever double victory in a season over a strong Stone CC outfit.
The opening pair of Taylor & Lewis scored 38 and 35 respectively to open up a lead of 14pins over Booth and Ogden.
The wibbly wobblys of Bowker and Williams ( 36 and 32) were unlucky to concede 5pins to Nelme and Pennington, but still managed to pass on a lead of 9pins to the anchor pair of Pearce and Pinder.
In a dramatic finale, Pearce (top score 42) and Pinder with 35pins pulled a further 8pins against Smart and Baker, to give a final score of 217 against 200 to grab a famous victory by 17 pins.
For the first time this season there were no ducks by the Golfing Society which is a record in itself, and congratulations go to all the team for an impressive victory over the league leaders.
The Golfing Society return to action next Thursday at the Wheatsheaf against last years 3rd placed team the Thursday Thirsties.

Golfing Society jumbled up by Odds and Ends
With only one score under 30 and 2 ducks, this was a much improved performance by the Golfing Society.
But two scores in the forties by the opposition was enough to win them the game by 10 pins.
Tinney and Lewis made a good start to the match giving the middle pair a ten pin lead, which Crabtree and Williams were unfortunate not to be able to hang on to, eventually finishing four pins down.
Despite being the top scoring pair for the Golfing Society, Pearce and Pinder lost a further six pins to the Odds & Ends anchor pair.
For the second week running, Vernon Pearce was top score, this week with 36 pins to his name.
On Thursday the opposition are the league leaders Stone CC whome we have already beaten this season.
