Monday night saw Stone CC take on the Alley Cat Strays and the Golfing Society to cement their postion at the top of the league.
The Alley Cats despite scoring 198 were well beaten, and the Golfing Society were put under no illusion as how great their task would be to gain victory over the home side.
Taylor(24) and Lewis (30) found themselves 18 pins down, and from then on it was an uphill battle to get back into the game,
Tinney(30) and Williams(20) despite suffering a lot of bad luck, were unlucky to lose a further 12 pins on an alley which was giving nothing to the visitors.
Crabtree(33) top scored for the Golfing Society, and together with Pinder(31) managed to pull a solitary pin to hand Stone CC with a total score of 197, a 29 pin victory.
An unlucky night for the Golfing Society, and a worse night for the Alley Cat Strays who would have won by 1 pin if they had played second, and also would have enjoyed the bread & cheese after the match.
Capt. Pinder
