Playing at the Knot of Rope for the first time in many years, the Golfing Society made a slow start to their quest for a 5th successive victory.
Taylor(22) and Lewis(26) found scoring hard to come by at first, but once the alley warmed up were able to claw some pins back to eventually finish just 8 pins down on their young opponents.
Gibbs(32) and Williams(34) turned the match on it's head, with a performance of true grit, they not only pulled back the deficit, but put the Golfing Society into the lead by 1 pin.
Despite scoring a duck, Crabtree(33) roared into an 11 pin lead, and with Pinder (30) keeping the scoreboard ticking over, the match was done and dusted with an 8 pin victory over their high-flying opponents.
Next weeks home match is against Essilor usual start time.
Capt. Pinder
