The Golfing Society's current run of fine form continued with a narrow victory over 3rd placed Essilor.
Looking to do the double over their high flying opponents, Taylor(25) and Lewis(20) were unlucky to find themselves trailing by 1 pin after their regulation six ups against Matthews & King.
Gibbs(25) and Williams(33) despite a shaky start, set about regaining the lead from Mallard and Malpas, and were able to hand on a 7 pin advantage to the anchor pair.
With Crabtree(10) having a rare off-night, it was left to Pinder(35) to ensure victory by just 3 pins over the ever dangerous Hudson & Rees.
Next match is on Monday away to this years league champions Stone CC, 9pm start.
Capt. Pinder
