Golfing Society sink Ship-A-Hoys

On a night when the Golfing Society at last scored 150 in a home match, a twenty five pin lead going into the anchor pair was almost not enough to secure two valuable points, in the relegation dogfight that they now find themselves embroiled in.

Taylor(25) and Tinney(29) were good value for establishing an early 21 pin lead in the match, with only one duck between them.

With a comfortable lead in the bag, Bowker(21) and Crabtree(23) not only consolidated the lead but added a further 4 pins to almost put the game barring disasters out of the Ship-A-Hoys reach.

However, Lewis(19) and Pinder(33) made hard work of it, and the opposition were able to claw back seventeen pins, to leave the Golfing Society relieved winners by 8 pins.

Next weeks match on Tuesday is at the Catholic Club versus Odds & Ends 8.30 start.

Capt. Pinder
