Golfing Society double over Wot-U-Wots

Looking for a rare away victory, the Golfing Society stunned the Wot-U-Wots in a lively good humoured match up at the Plough Thornbury by coming through to win by 12 pins, and secure two welcome points in their battle against relegation.

Taylor (22) and Gibbs (20) got off to a slow start, but finished only nine pins down to their seemingly free scoring opponents.

Crabtree (32) got off to a cracking start with his first ball launching itself into the top of the front pin, and never looked back in scoring the nights top score. With Rich Williams (31) at last finding his form, the pair pulled a magnificent eighteen pins to put the Golfing Society back in the lead by 9 pins.

It was now left to Lewis (30) and Pinder (25) to consolidate the win by pulling a further 3 pins to ease the Golfing Society to a moral boosting win.

Next week the Golfing Society take on the First Timers at home 8.30 start.
