The Golfing Society have always struggled to win their first match of the season, and when Dickie Lowe scored a fine nine on his first visit, the Golfing Society were wondering if history was going to repeat itself yet again.
However Taylor (38) and Lewis (16) were not fazed by the Newtonians opening scores, and were able to hand over an 8 pin lead to the Golfing Society's middle pair.
Gibbs (27) and Williams (22) unfortunately dropped 3 pins against their opponents who had 3 ducks in their score.
With a lead of 5 pins, the anchor pair of Tinney (21) and Pinder (40) were able to extend the lead to 22 pins by the end of the match.
Next weeks match is at home to the Gamblers.
