Roaring Twenties silenced by Golfing Society

Having beaten the league leaders in their last match, the Golfing Society were hoping that their good form would continue against the Roaring Twenties. In the bright and airey skittle alley at the Wheatsheaf, the match soon got underway after waking the sticker up from his slumbers at the business end of the alley. The top scoring Leprachaun (42) and Miss Timed (19) got the evening under way by only losing one pin against their more experienced opponents. With six ducks sitting the match out, Mr Wibbly (35) fresh from a short Portugese holiday, and the Capt (27) pulled the match round by pulling nine pins to give the anchor pair a rare breathing space to consolidate the win. The Accountant (30) cashed in with some steady scoring, and with Ned (40) in blinding form, the match was soon in the bag with the Golfing Society cruising home by nineteen pins. With relegation still a distinct possibility, the Golfing Society must maintain this form in the final two matches of the season, starting with the White Hart A next Thursday at home. Capt. Pinder
