Gamblers trumped by Golfing Society

In an exciting mid-table encounter, the Golfing Society held all the aces to win by 23 pins.

The opening pair of Taylor (33) and Tinney (18) forged ahead, but were pegged back by their dogged opponents to lead by one pin at the end of their six ups.

The middle pair of Crabtree (20) and Gibbs (21) lost one pin, and with both teams even on 92, left the anchor pair of Pearce (41) and Pinder (35) to seal the victory.

Next match versus The Crickets at the Plough next Wednesday 8.00pm start.

As I guess Richard and Anonymous are one and the same person, I can only pass on what Norma said to me at the weekend.

Ned is back in Southmead with wires stuck to every part of his body. He has been advised that they are going to carry out a by-pass operation, and while he remains in Southmead he will be at the top of the queue.

Once that is done, he will have to start his convalesence all over again.
