An early start to the evening caused problems for the Golfing Society, who had only four players in attendance at the start of the match.
Looking for inspiration, Taylor and Tinney struggled to make headway against the Crickets openers, and were unable to manufacture any sort of a lead drawing with 41 pins against Fowler and Sage.
Bowker returned from the wilderness with Capt. Pinder, but both quickly lost 15 pins against the spin of the Crickets middle order. A quick fire 5 from Bowker saw him return to the sidelines with his reputation for low scoring very much intact.
The final pairing of the "bearded wonder", and fast right-hander Pearce were no match for the stylish bowling of Browning and Gulwell, and another 21 pins were grabbed by the home side.
A miserable evening for the Golfing Society, who must now regroup before next weeks home match with Stone CC.
