Newtonians win local derby

With both sides sharing the same home alley, this was always going to be a keenly contested contest.

The Newtonians were anxious to avoid relegation and the Golfing Society to maintain their third placed position in the league.

However, as the match unfolded it seemed that the respective league positions were reversed, as the Golfing Society were soundly beaten by 34 pins.

Tinney ( top score 28 ) and Lewis (23) dropped 6 pins to Dickie Lowe and Mavis. The wibbly wobblys of Bowker (16) and Williams (20) dropped a further 12 pins to Andy Clark and Tet, leaving Cason (21) and Pinder (20) to lose a further 16 pins to JD and Duncan Bulley.

Next week's visitors are Essilor.
