Playing their last away match of the season, the Golfing Society were looking to extend their current winning streak to three matches against their mid table opponents.
For the second match running the opening pair dropped pins, but Miss Understood (26) and Gibbo (26) did enough for the Golfing Society to stay in contention at nine pins down.
The Leprachaun (28) along with the Accountant (32) were the Golfing Society's high scoring pair, and pulled back seven pins to leave the Alley Cat Strays with a slender two pin advantage.
With two valuable points on offer, the Golfing Society's final pair of Ned (24) and the Capt (34) made no mistakes, and pulled twenty seven pins to earn a vital win.
Next weeks final match is home to the Puglers 8.30pm start.
