Golfing Society duck out against Lone Rangers

If the Golfing Society are to remain in the First Division, they need to address the growing problem of ducks.

In the season to date, in 15 matches there have been 102 ducks which is nearly 7 ducks a match.

In this weeks match, there were 8 to their opponents 3, so they are effectively only playing with five players instead of six every week.

Taylor(24) and Gibbs(30) were the pick of the home pairs only dropping one pin against Ponting (Jnr.) and Cumming, despite conceding two ducks to nil.

Unfortunately Bowker(16) and Crabtree(26) conceded 5 ducks to 2 against Gardiner and Longman, and a further 9 pins were lost.

With 10 pins to find, Lewis(28) and Pinder (25) were on a 1 duck par with Curtis and Ponting (Snr.), but lost a further 3 pins for the match to be won by the visitors overall by 13 pins.

Next weeks match is away versus the Gamblers at Coalpit Heath Miners Club.
